Khaolak Grand City: a central base, with corridor noise to consider

The pool gets praise; some rooms and heavy doors get a different reaction.

Two Grand City guests mentioned heavy doors closing. One had stayed only overnight and found the hotel quiet until the doors started. Another described sound carrying along the corridors. That is a more useful warning than simply calling a hotel noisy: the disturbance they noticed came from inside the building. The second guest also said many available rooms lacked external windows, and their air-conditioning did not cool the room well. Those are their observations, not a checked inventory of all rooms. Still, the window issue is worth taking seriously for someone who expects to spend time inside rather than just sleep there.

I find a window important even in a simple hotel. It makes the room more pleasant for a slow morning or an afternoon break. A traveller arriving late and leaving early may care much less. Grand City's central setting could be useful for that short stay, while the same room might feel less appealing over several days.

Other visitors had more comfortable experiences. Guests praised large rooms and a clean pool; one liked the mattress, and another reported a good bathroom with hot water. The pool is the part that gives this town hotel an extra reason to return during the day. A place used mainly as a base can still offer somewhere to spend an hour without heading to the beach.

The main-road location is clear in the reports. One visitor found 7-Eleven and McDonald's close by, while the overnight guest mentioned a nearby bus stop. That is practical convenience: food and small errands are part of the immediate surroundings. It is different from staying in a resort where most of the day takes place within the grounds.

Grand City makes more sense for someone spending much of the trip out, especially if central services matter more than the look of the room. For someone who wants the room itself to be a relaxing place to sit, the comments about windows and corridor sound weigh more heavily. A pool does not answer those concerns, even when guests enjoy it.

The positive comments called the hotel good value, but I have not attached a fixed nightly price to that description. Value depends on the rate and room offered for a particular stay. The useful comparison here is more concrete: a central location and a pool, alongside reports of basic older rooms and noise from doors. That is enough to understand why some guests were pleased and others had reservations.

Sources and scope

This is a researched editorial review, not an account of a personal stay.

Five Agoda comments dated March 2025–March 2026 were read. Corridor door noise appears in two separate accounts; window and air-conditioning concerns appear in one. A current official website could not be verified. Pet-policy statements and exact bus-stop distance were not adopted as current confirmed facts.
