Beach and lagoon scenery, with a family-booking dispute among otherwise positive accounts.

From a ground-floor Estate room at Wanaburee, one guest looked out from the veranda towards a pond with fish and large lizards. They liked how the wooden and concrete buildings fitted into the surrounding vegetation. The beach, with its large boulders, was another part of the setting they enjoyed.

The official accommodation page separates Estate rooms, Manor rooms, Rendezvous suites, and family accommodation. It describes different garden and lagoon positions. Some size figures on the page conflict with its own descriptions, so I have not used them to rank the rooms. The ground-floor Estate guest's veranda is a clearer, room-specific detail.

A later visitor liked a large balcony and several swimming pools with different features. Others valued the quiet beach and prompt service. Breakfast was less consistent in the comments: some liked it, while one wished the tea and coffee were better and another found some bakery items disappointing.

One family had a much more difficult experience over New Year. They said the number of adults and children in their booking was disputed at arrival and that resolving the room arrangement involved a substantial extra charge. This is their account of the disagreement; I have not seen their booking documents or the hotel's response. It is still relevant for a family considering the room's advertised sleeping arrangement.

Wanaburee interests me for the pond, veranda, and coastal setting. A room facing a garden or lagoon gives a different stay from a room chosen mainly for being near the water. The guest who watched the pond had something specific to enjoy without leaving their accommodation.

That visitor also found taxis and tuk-tuks at the top of the drive during their stay. Getting into the busier part of Khao Lak was an outing rather than simply stepping from the room into a street of shops. The veranda and the quieter setting are the attraction; the family-room dispute is a separate concern that should not disappear among the positive scenery reports.

Sources and scope

This is a researched editorial review, not an account of a personal stay.

Five Agoda comments dated June 2024–February 2026 were read through a locale listing. The Estate veranda is one December 2024 stay. The New Year occupancy/surcharge dispute is one January 2025 report without booking documents or a management response. Official room descriptions contain conflicting size figures, which were not adopted.
