Koyao Bay Pavilions: beach suites or a villa further inland?

An island stay where the room choice changes the distance to the sand and the kind of pool you get.

A guest who tried both a private-pool room and a beach suite at Koyao Bay Pavilions preferred the beach suite. The pool there was shared between three suites, but felt pleasantly quiet during their February 2026 stay. Being a few steps from the sand mattered more to them than having a pool entirely to themselves.

The setting is Koh Yao Noi, an island between Phuket and Krabi. It belongs in an island itinerary, even though booking sites sometimes place it under Phuket. The official website separates its beach suites from its pool villas, and that distinction is worth keeping when looking through photographs.

A family in Yanat Villa had a different experience. Their older daughters used a detached building, while everyone shared the kitchen and living room in the main house. They liked the private pool and the extra space. In their December 2024 account, reaching the main hotel and beach meant a walk of about eight minutes; that is their estimate for that villa, rather than a distance for every room.

Friends staying in beach suites in March 2025 remembered the outdoor shower and covered sitting area at the front. They also praised the restaurant. Food appears again in other comments, including guests who extended their stay and liked having an easy meal on site. La Sala, the hotel restaurant, advertises Thai and Mediterranean dishes.

Two groups described staff arranging boat outings with pickup from the beach. That sounds convenient, but the reports do not establish a daily departure or an included excursion. Another visitor in February 2026 relied on a scooter or taxi for moving around the island, with help from the hotel.

The beach suites make the strongest impression in these accounts for a couple or friends who want the shore close by. A family choosing Yanat Villa gains a different layout and more separation. Those are two distinct holidays within the same property, so compare the named accommodation rather than treating every pool photograph as the room you will receive.

Sources and scope

This is a researched editorial review, not an account of a personal stay.

Five Agoda guest comments from December 2024 to February 2026 were read. Official location, accommodation grouping and restaurant description were checked. The villa walking estimate, shared-pool experience and beach boat pickups are individual reports. Current transfers and excursion schedules were not established. Beach-suite age restrictions should be checked separately from family-villa eligibility.
